I was delighted to launch “Regulating for Growth: A Cultural Shift for a Competitive UK”- a bold and practical roadmap for embedding a growth mindset across the UK’s financial regulatory system.

This report is a call to action: we must regulate for growth, not just against risk. The Financial Services and Markets Act 2023 gave regulators a new duty to support international competitiveness and economic growth. Now is the time to deliver on that promise.

Guided by this year’s mayoral theme, Growth Unleashed, we are championing innovation, reigniting the City’s dormant animal spirits, and encouraging responsible risk-taking to drive prosperity.

I invite regulators, government, and industry to work together to ensure the UK remains the world’s most dynamic and trusted financial centre.
