Order of St John Service - 24th June 2023

On Saturday 24th June 2023, I was pleased to attend the St John’s Day celebration at St Paul's Cathedral, supporting St John Ambulances.

St John Ambulances responds to health emergencies, supports communities, and saves lives across England, empowering people of all ages with life-saving skills and the confidence to use them every day. The charity teaches first aid to more people than any other organisations in the UK. The Order of St John’s guiding purpose is to help all who are in need through sickness, distress, suffering and danger, without distinction of nationality or religious belief, as embodied in the motto: Pro Utilitate Hominium – For the Service of Humanity.

Visit sja.org.uk for more information on St John Ambulances.

Before the service at St Paul’s Cathedral, I attended the Twenty-Third General Assembly of the Priory of England and the Islands, in the company of the Rt Hon The Lord Mayor Alderman Nicholas Lyons and Sheriff Andrew Marsden. The Assembly outlined the work of the Priory during 2022, including their operational output and work with young people, and the activities of the St John Fellowship who celebrate their 40th Anniversary this year.
